HOUSING & MEALS
HOUSING
911Buenos Aires offers diverse housing options to ensure you're comfortable in your home away from home. From homestays to shared apartments, we strive for your accommodation preferences to be met. Additionally, all housing options are located in neighborhoods with convenient access to public transportation, shops, cafés, and eateries.
Standard Housing: Includes a single room at a homestay, a double room at a shared apartment, or a double room at a student residency located within a 60-minute commute from 911Buenos Aires.
- Homestays: Homestays give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in authentic, day-to-day Argentine life by living with socially active hosts who encourage student independence. Homestays include kitchen access for food storage, a living room, Wi-Fi, weekly laundry, and a bathroom shared with the host. Host families provide two meals a day.
- Shared Apartments: Shared apartments are modest in size and feature a few amenities, single beds, Wi-Fi access, maintenance repair services, bed linens, towels, and a kitchen. Meals are not included in apartments.
- Student Residencies: The student residency is modern, offers Wi-Fi access, and a shared kitchen. No meals are included in this option.
Select Housing: Includes a private room in a studio apartment or at a shared apartment located 45 minutes from 911Buenos Aires. Select housing requires an additional fee.
- Shared Apartments: Shared apartments are modest in size and feature a few amenities, Wi-Fi access, maintenance repair services, bed linens, towels, and a kitchen. Meals are not included in apartments.
- Studio Apartments: single room units that feature Wi-Fi access, maintenance repair services, bed linens, towels, and a kitchen. MEALS
Homestays include two meals per day: Breakfast and either lunch or dinner. Host families and students arrange their own meal schedules. Students are responsible for the remaining meal, either preparing it at home or eating in one of the many restaurants and cafés throughout the city.
Residence Halls/Shared Apartments: Meals are not included. Residence halls and apartments have direct access to supermarkets and restaurants.
Academics
This dynamic eight-week program delves into a comprehensive exploration of community and public health issues within the Argentine context. By considering diverse social scenarios, participants gain valuable insights into the intricacies of healthcare in Argentina. The program covers topics such as healthcare management, policies, bioethics, and health promotion.
All three courses are designed to enrich students’ awareness of public health dynamics by combining classroom learning with visits to healthcare centers and cultural immersion. Students will take three courses: classes on Pre-Professional Healthcare Issues, participate in a Community Health Practicum and
Additionally, students are required to take one Advanced Spanish course along with Pre-Professional Healthcare Issues and Community Health Practicum. Advanced Spanish options are Spanish Language-Advanced I, Spanish Language Advanced II and Advanced Spanish for Healthcare Professionals. This course will increase student´s public health-related vocabulary and facilitate friendly conversations with people in the community and members of the healthcare team. Spanish courses to be delivered are contingent upon enrollment numbers and the proficiency level of the students. Please approve all Spanish courses with your advisors before arrival.
Our instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. They specialize in various areas of public health, including epidemiology, qualitative and quantitative research methods, social and health public policy, bioethics, and health promotion.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
