When class is in session, you'll join the Integrated Study Abroad program at CIEE’s esteemed partner institution, the London College of Fashion (University of the Arts, London). There, you’ll choose from a wide array of courses with one of the following focuses: Fashion Business, Fashion Product Design, and Fashion, Media, & Communication. Additionally, this program includes an exciting five-day trip to Paris – a city home to haute couture – to introduce you to France’s renowned fashion districts, popular flea markets, and world-class cuisine. During this excursion, you’ll come to understand why Paris is recognized globally as the capital of fashion and how Parisian fashion has influenced London – and the rest of the world. (Rest assured, all your travel and accommodations to and from Paris are included in this trip, but please ensure you have a valid visa and insurance in place.)

Outside the classroom, you'll have every opportunity to participate actively in the British community. Immerse yourself in the local culture with optional credit-bearing internships or cultural experiences. Our students walk, take the bus, or ride London’s Underground tube.

ºÚÁÏÍø911wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local ºÚÁÏÍø911staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in London.

Academics

University of the Arts, London was established in 2004. It drew six colleges under its umbrella, each of which had its own beginning in the 19th century. UAL now has 19,000+ students both homegrown and international and it is world ranked at #2 for Art and Design. This program is delivered by the London College of Fashion. Founded in 1906 to prepare young women to go into the millinery trade, the London College of Fashion is still the only British institution to specialize in fashion education and research. It has been ranked as the World’s #1 College for Fashion and is very highly regarded within the industry. It is in the process of moving to a state-of-the-art building at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as part of the new East Bank development. Students studying there will have access to a 21st-century workshop with internal halls designed to promote exhibitions and the sharing of ideas. Notable alumni include Jimmy Choo (shoe designer), A’Whora (drag artist and designer), Tabitha Mei-Bo Li (Film Prosthetics), and entertainers such as Rachel Stevens (S Club 7). UAL’s London College of Fashion semester program offers three different pathways that explore different aspects of fashion and a five-day trip to Paris.
