Your Destination
Home of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games, London is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. London is at the cutting edge of the arts scene and provides access to music, fashion, free museums, comedy, and theater. There are abundant opportunities for enjoying London – with eight Royal Parks right in the heart of the city and more green space than any comparable city in the world.
London is the perfect place to study Global Health. Our multicultural city and broad socioeconomic variety allow students to explore pathologies that other more homogeneous cultures lack. You also have access to the resources of the British Medical Association, the Royal Society of Medicine, and the Wellcome Trust.
Centrally located in a beautiful Georgian square just moments from the British Museum and 10 minutes from Trafalgar Square and its art galleries, ºÚÁÏÍø911London has a lounge, cafe and, study areas - perfect for discussing your program with your fellow students.
ºÚÁÏÍø911wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local ºÚÁÏÍø911staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in London.
The Culture
Excursions & Activities
- Let us show you the secret parts of London that remain off the tourist map: the Foundling hospital for abandoned children, Brick Lane – home of waves of immigrants and a thriving, bustling community and maybe even the outdoor ponds on Hampstead Heath where the brave swim all year round.
- Spend a day exploring a historic location outside London: Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, and Canterbury are all favorites.
- Sail along the Thames and see the Globe Theatre on one side of you, St Paul’s Cathedral on the other, and the Houses of Parliament ahead.
- Explore central sites in the City of Westminster, home of Buckingham Palace, Whitehall, St. James’ Park, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Palace of Westminster.
- Browse the urban markets on Sundays in Shoreditch and Petticoat Lane; eat fabulous food in Borough Market; shop for souvenirs in Camden.

Housing & Meals
Housing
London is home to 18 universities and competition for housing is fierce. We place our students in shared apartments, dorms or, hotels. Students share twin rooms, a bathroom, and basic kitchen facilities. As space in London is limited, living spaces are compact! We are regularly impressed with the meals our students manage to create in their kitchen areas. ºÚÁÏÍø911provides bedding and kitchen packs.
All our housing is within a 45-minute commute of ºÚÁÏÍø911London by public transportation. We will get you started with a travel card when you arrive, but you should budget for travel expenses while you are in London. Don’t worry - you will feel like a local in no time!
Meals
Meals are not provided - students will have the facilities to prepare basic meals. This may not be a full kitchen, but students can make their own food.
Students can also take advantage of a rich variety of cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
Academics
During the January in London program, students spend three weeks taking a full credit course complemented with co-curricular activities to immerse students in the culture and facilitate intercultural learning.
ºÚÁÏÍø911London is located in the heart of Bloomsbury. It sits in one of the most vibrant and student-populated neighborhoods of central London. It features Georgian architecture, 10 classrooms, a café, and a garden terrace.
