Your ��911Semester Global Internship program in Palma lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: a full-time internship with an international organization (approximately 30 hours per week), an internship seminar, and the option to take a course taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. Housing

��911Palma offers diverse housing options to ensure you’re comfortable in your home away from home. From homestays to shared apartments, we strive for your accommodation preferences to be met.

Standard Housing: Includes a single room in a homestay – with or without another ��911student – in the home of a Spanish family to immerse you in the local language and culture. Host families allow for a lot of student independence, have no curfew, provide kitchen access for food storage, share their living room, offer Wi-Fi access, offer weekly laundry, and share their bathroom.

Select Housing: Includes a twin room with another ��911student in a shared apartment. Shared apartments are modest in size, featuring basic amenities with laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, bed linens, towels, and a kitchen. Select housing requires an additional fee.

Select Plus Housing: Includes a single room in a shared apartment. Shared apartments are modest in size, featuring basic amenities with laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, bed linens, towels, and a kitchen. Select Plus housing requires an additional fee.

A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.

Meals

Homestays: Students have breakfast and dinner with their host families, and they are responsible for lunch. Students do not typically have access to the kitchen at the host family home.

Shared Apartments: Meals are not included in Select and Select Plus Housing. Students living in apartments share full kitchens where they can prepare their own meals. There is a wide range of restaurants and cafés located around the city and the building where classes are offered.

Requirements

All Global Semester Internship participants take the 9-credit full-time internship with the required embedded internship seminar, plus an optional ASU online course (ASU session A in spring, and ASU session B in fall) for a total of 9-13 semester credits.

��911internship: 9 U.S. semester credits/13.5 quarter credits; 45 hours of in-person and asynchronous online learning activities and a minimum of 360 internship placement hours.
ASU online courses: Typically 3 - 4 U.S. semester/4.5-6 quarter credits; 45-60 contact hours

Academic Culture

��911courses are designed to follow U.S. academic culture and standards. The integrated academic course, which correlates with the internship, is taught in-person and asychronously. Students are expected to dress and behave professionally throughout their internship and are subject to the agreed-upon internship protocols arranged by ��911and the host organization.

ASU Courses: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You’ll receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

Students participate in a full-time in-person internship and required academic course featuring both in-person class sessions and online asynchronous work designed to help students develop professional and intercultural competencies to complement their internship experience.

ASU online courses meet in “sessions” that are 7.5 weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other ��911courses begin or end.

Grading

The U.S. grading scale of A-F is used. Students are graded on the basis of in-class and online engagement and preparation, and specific assessments such as project work, presentations, and examinations.

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person.

Your tasks at the winery will be guiding visits through the vine fields and premises of the winery, explaining the production process. Also, you will conduct wine tastings and be envolved in sales. You will be able to develop social and soft skills, in addition to gaining field related knowledge and learn first hand how a winery is managed. ��911 the Company This winery, located in Santa María del Camí on the island of Mallorca, has a rich history dating back to 1856. It is renowned for producing high-quality wines from meticulously selected Mallorcan vines. The winery combines modern technology with traditional methods to create wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the local terroir.
