Traditional Study Abroad Programs
Traditional study abroad programs are anything but boring. These are our tried-and-true programs that students love year after year that nicely align with the traditional semester-long U.S. calendar – though there are certain exceptions to this, and quarter students should still explore these options to see if one fits.
Some of the perks of a traditional study abroad program include:
- Having a single home base: Staying in one location for your entire term fully immerses you in your host country so you can settle into your home abroad, establish deep connections with locals, expose yourself to the local language, and really immerse yourself in the local culture
- Taking semester-long courses: On a traditional program, you’ll take a semester’s worth of courses just like your home university; you may even be able to direct enroll at a local university to experience traditional campus life abroad, depending on your program
- Experiencing lots of co-curricular activities: Much like our other program models, traditional programs are loaded with frequent co-curricular activities, day trips, overnight excursions, and comparative learning opportunities to bring your coursework to life

- They’re budget friendly: There’s a lot packed into a short-term program for a fraction of the cost of a semester-long program
